Fun with Fred and friends in Charleston

“When Fred the Snake and Friends explore Charleston” was published 10 days ago.

It seems popular, at least among friends and work colleagues, and I have been doing the rounds of places mentioned in it to get more publicity. So, I have been to Charleston Museum, the gift store at the Yorktown, The Children’s museum, Blue Bicycle book store, Barnes and Noble, and have been emailing many others, like the Citadel, Riverdogs stadium and all the restaurants. Fred and friends chose to have lunch at Rue de Jean.

It is part of the Holy City Hospitality group with several other Charleston establishments. They offered to do a press release and an email blast to their 21,000 subscribers!

The book was dedicated again to my wonderful family, and also to Joe Riley, our wonderful Charleston mayor, who is retiring next month after 40 years. He really is “father of modern Charleston”, as we say in Fred’s book and as detailed in the recent excellent biography of him by Brian Hicks. Mayor Riley wrote me a nice letter after I sent him a book.

What will Fred do next?
